Where did you meet & how long have you been together?
We met in work, I was working part time on the weekends whilst studying nursing in university and we got talking on a work night out and had so much in common that we never knew! We’ve now been together for 6 years.
Tell us a little about your day- how you felt and what made it special for you.
Our wedding day was everything we ever thought it would be and MORE! It was just like a magical dream, everything was perfect. Celebrating our love in front of those we love was so special to us, it was priceless.
Where did you get married and why did you choose the venue? Feel free to describe the venue and decor too.
We got married in my (brides) family church in Clydach, St. Mary’s. My grandparents, parents and sister married there. Me and my sisters and their children also got Christened there. So this was a place close to my heart. We decorated it with ivory flowers, candles, candelabras and ivory chair covers which we did all ourself. It was a NYE wedding, so the decoration flowers had a frosting on them and the lighting in the church made it so festive and homely.
We then travelled down to Oldwalls Gower. I can not praise this place enough, nothing was to much to ask and they really are an outstanding company. Perfection to detail.

Who supplied the suits and was there any special details or colours?
Dyfed Menswear, brilliant company. Very helpful and stress free. Due to the time of year of our wedding we choose an Italian black dinner suit, it just fitted in perfect with our theme.
Who was your dress designer and/or supplier
My wedding dress was from the fantastic White Orchid Bridalwear. Again, another outstanding company. Especially thankful and grateful to their seamstress Angela!
https://www.facebook.com/WhiteOrchidBridal/
Who was your makeup artist
Lowise MUA . She’s outstanding, I didn’t need to touch my makeup all day?! The only thing was my lipstick.

Who was your hair stylist
The amazing Gemma Bisset & Louise Rosselli.
https://www.facebook.com/Houseofhair-670692079984315/
What cars/ transport did you have? (Website if possible please)
We choose Champagne Wedding Cars! https://www.champagneweddingcars.co.uk/
Who made your cake? Again please describe any special features (Website if possible please)
Karan Brown made our wedding cake. I remember walking into the wedding reception in Oldwalls and it just blew me away! It was a six tier cake, the icing was ivory shimmer with flowers and floral piping. It really was breathtaking.
Who was your florist? Please describe any special features

Who was your jewellery designer? Please describe any special features
I had my head piece from White Orchid Bridal! And earring and necklace from Ernest jones. The necklace I actually received on the morning of our wedding as a gift from Greg. I gifted him a watch from H. Samuel
What brand were your shoes & what did you love about them?
Rainbow Shoes. Perfect heel and so comfy!
Was there anything else that you feel made your day truly special or any other comments to share?
We had a saxophonist down in Oldwalls as guest were arriving, he was possibly (if I had to choose) my favourite thing of the day! Steve Sax is amazing.
Feedback- was there anything else Justin Harris Photography could have done differently or better?
Nothing. We feel so lucky have had him be apart of our wedding. He did so much for us and would recommend him to anyone!! Nicest gentleman to have worked with.

Wedding photography Margam Orangery – Nikki & Mark

Posted on: June 20th, 2019

wedding photography Margam orangery

I met Nikki and her mum a few years ago at a Margam orangery showcase. Mum was pretty adamant that they should book me after seeing our fashion & wedding photography before! This kinda was a case of mom knows best & Nikki did not need any encouragement to book us for her wedding photography Margam orangery!

I always get excited about wedding photography & meeting my bride & grooms but wedding photography at Margam orangery just excites me beyond belief! The photography possibilities there are amazing.  Margam castle photography is just spectacular & the grounds & gardens of Margam Orangery are just amazing for wedding photography!

I asked Nikki & Mark a few questions about their big day & their wedding photography Margam Orangery.

How long have you guys been together & how did you meet?

We met through a friend and had our first ever date at a bar in Uplands Swansea. We have been together 4 and a half years.

Tell us a little about your day- how you felt and what made it special for you.

We had the most amazing wedding day. As the bride I felt like a princess walking down the aisle in Margam Orangery. Seeing all of our family together was a true delight. Also seeing our two little boys in their suits was the cutest! Margam Orangery wedding photography is just the best!

Where did you get married and why did you choose the venue?

We got married at & had our wedding photography at Margam Orangery in Port Talbot. We chose the venue because it meant a lot to both of us. It was where Mark proposed! Margam Orangery is the most beautiful place and we couldn’t have imagined getting married anywhere else. The location is absolutely incredible for wedding photography too so we definitely took advantage of that.

Who was your venue decorator?

We chose Swansea Wedding Decorators for our decoration. We chose burgundy with greens and whites for our colourscheme as we felt it complimented Margam beautifully. They did the most amazing job and was everything and more that we imagined.

Who supplied the suits and was there any special details or colours? (website if possible please)

Dyfed mens wear supplied the suits. Mark chose one of the most traditional suits which was an amazing choice. Everyone looked so smart!
Who was your dress designer and/or supplier.

Chic and elegant is where I purchased my dress. Linda was absolutely amazing and helped to find my dream dress. I knew straight away that the dress was for me. Would highly recommend! It just looks incredible in our wedding photography in Margam Orangery.

Who was your makeup artist
I had 2 different makeup artists. One was Natasha Hobbs MUA. And the other was Tasha Louise MUA. Natasha did MOB MOG and the bride and Tasha Louise did the bridesmaids. Both did an amazing job! It makes such a difference to the wedding photography.

Who was your hair stylist

I had 2 fantastic hairstylists Jennifer and Natasha from The Empire a Salon situated in llansamlet Swansea.

What cars/ transport did you have?

Exquisite bridal cars supplied the wedding cars. We had an vintage Royale Windsor Landaulette Silver. It was just the perfect wedding day car & looked amazing outside the orangery & in our wedding photographs!

Who made your cake?

A family friend called Steffi made our wedding cake exactly how we wanted it.

Who was your florist? Please describe any special features (Website if possible please)

Swansea Wedding Decorators supplied our flowers for us. We wanted a wild effect so we had bergundy and white roses with lots of greenery. Delighted with the outcome.

Who was your stationery supplier?

My mother handmade our wedding favours. We also supplied our own guest book and personalised our own pens. I think its lovely to have some hand made touches at your wedding.

Who was your jewellery designer?

My wedding jewellery was bought for me by one of my bridesmaids.

What brand were your shoes & what did you love about them?

I actually bought my shoes from New Look! They were very comfortable and looked amazing.

Was there anything else that you feel made your day truly special or any other comments to share?

Mark is from Scotland so it was amazing that his family who live in Scotland were able to travel and join us on our wedding day. Just having our entire family and friends together was truly incredible and seeing our children mesmerized by the whole day was perfect.

Tell us a little about Justin Harris Photography your wedding photography Margam Orangery

Justin Harris made our day as comfortable as possible. He did everything to make sure he got the right shots and perfect pictures. He managed to turn a miserable rainy day in to what looked so romantically picture perfect. We were all extremely impressed with Justin’s wedding photography Margam orangery. The best choice we made!

Please be patient for video loading; its worth it!

Where did you meet and how long have you been together?

We started out as friends when we first met at sixth form in school. We have been together for over 10 years!

Tell us a little bit about your day-how you felt and what made it special for you?

Our wedding day, 27th of February is a day that will always take us back to the Caribbean which now holds a special memory for us. Our day was intimate, surrounded by our immediate family. I remember there being a lot of laughter and happiness. Our whole day was spent outdoors and we loved being in the warm climate!  It is with huge thanks to Justin our photographer who travelled all the way to Antigua to be with us. He did a really fantastic job and captured our day as I had imagined. Justin has provided us with a lifetime of happy memories to look back on.

Where did you get married and why did you choose the venue? Feel free to describe the venue and décor too. (If the ceremony was in a different place to reception you can talk about that too)

We both have a love for travel and over the years together we have visited many places around the world. Although the Caribbean was a place we had never been to – we instinctively felt that it was the idyllic place for us to to say ‘I do!’ after finding the most beautiful luxury resort that lapped against the Caribbean sea on the northwest corner of Antigua –  the award winning Blue Waters.

Who was your venue decorator? You can also describe the décor and why your chose the theme & colours etc.

At Blue Waters, Mandy the wedding coordinator out there did a brilliant job for us. She sorted the arrangements for the decoration of our wedding Gazebo. The swaying palm trees and the overlooking sea gave us our backdrop!  To reflect the scenery, our flower arrangements were clean and neutral – greenery and an array of white/ivory flowers, including roses. For our evening reception we had private use of Carolyn’s Bar which directly overlooked the sea from the terrace top. The views and scenery were the décor in itself! The flowers from our ceremony were used to decorate the table for the evening.

For our wedding party back home, we loved the grand and elegant feel at Morgans. We wanted to compliment it’s classic features and chose to surround it with our own shop bought churhc candles, lots of large clear confetti filled balloons and an array of flowers that were arranged by our florist.

Who supplied the suits and was there any special details or colours?

Dylan’s suit from the Marcy Darcy collection and was tailored by The Practical Taylor in Neath. – a classic cream cheque thee piece tweed suit.

Who was your dress designer and who/or supplier?

My wedding dress designer was Pronovias. I bought it at the Alison Jayne Store in Cardiff.

Who was your make up artist?

I chose to do my own make up on my wedding day out in Antigua.

For my wedding party at Morgans, Jodie Amner Evans was my make up artist – she was brilliant and so friendly and did exactly what I asked for!

Who was your hair stylist

The lovely Celeste, the designated bridal hair stylist at Blue Waters at the resorts salon and spa styled my hair on my wedding day. Celeste was with me for most of my day whilst getting ready and had a really calming aura which really helped steady my nerves!

Jody also styled my hair at Morgans and created a similar type of style to my wedding day – it was a bit looser which I could get away with without there being much wind!

What cars/transport did you have?

Blue Waters provided a fully decorated wedding styled golf buggy for me and my parents as part of our wedding package.

Who made your cake? Again please describe any special features

Mandy organised the arrangements for our wedding cake with the catering team at Blue Waters and they made a wonderfully timeless textured buttercream cake decorated with fresh flowers.

Back Home, Strawbridge’s Celebration Cakes supplied our small top tier cake along with shimmery ivory rose cupcakes for all our evening guests – they were delicious and went down a treat!

Who was your florist?

At Blue Waters our flowers were supplied by the resorts florists and everything was arranged for us. There was a lot of greenery that surrounded us naturally in the resort which was beautiful – we added a little more greenery and some ivory and white roses. We kept it classic and clean!

At Morgans our flowers were arranged and displayed by award winning Francis Florist who set up such a brilliant display! The flowers were quite a key element at our wedding party and they really set the mood in the room. We continued with our colour theme from Antigua but injected subtle, soft pinks, peaches and lilacs which really gave a cosy, inviting feel. Lots of eucalyptus draped the tables which left a beautiful scent in the room.

Who was your stationary supplier?

For our wedding day we didn’t require a stationary supplier. We had a small number of guests and all of them were our immediate family.  Bullart Graphics supplied our wedding party invitations for Morgans. In my chosen design I used a pear shaped embellishment to match the detail of my engagement ring.

Who was your jewellery designer? Please describe any special features

Dylan bought my engagement ring from Hatton Garden. I loved the shape and design of it so much that I wanted to try to implement its features on my wedding ring. I was so happy with the final design that was created by Diamond Centre Wales and both my rings really complement each other!

What brand were your shoes & what did you love about them?

My shoes were from the Jenny Packham collection. I loved the clustered pear like embellishments at the front of them. They were also so comfy – I partied the night away in them on both occasions!

Was there anything else that made your day truly special?

We spent the week at Blue Waters resort for our wedding and our stay felt really personalised. Various events were organised for myself and Dylan by Mandy to the build up of our wedding day which was a really nice touch. All the staff were easy going, friendly, and nothing was too much trouble.

For our Photographer Justin to travel all the way from Swansea to be with us our special day meant the world and we cannot thank him enough for the memories! He was with us all day and was really professional throughout. We have been delighted with the wedding album he has created for us, which also transitions from Antigua to our wedding party back home. Both events were worlds apart but have flowed really well in the album.

Georgina the events manager at Morgans was very helpful and ensured that our evening party was set up just as we had discussed. She set time aside for us when we needed to call to the venue for various measurements etc – nothing was too much trouble! She also recommended our DJ – JD Entertainments who provided excellent entertainment.

Was there anything else Justin Harris photography could have done better of differently?

Justin did a fantastic job for us and he captured lots of natural moments of laughter and happiness which was really important to us.  He has an artistic eye for detail and this really shows in his work. Justin’s easy going, relaxed approach really makes you feel at ease – I would definitely recommend Justin as a photographer!

Posted on: October 31st, 2018

David & Natasha got married in Hensol Castle in early autumn.

As a South Wales wedding photographer I’ve shot many venues & Hensol castle is still one of my favourites. It has so many different aspects- inside & out. It is a South wales wedding photographers dream to photograph!

I asked Natasha & David a little about them & their Wedding day & their thoughts on their South Wales wedding photographer:

How did you meet?

I was working in Yates in Swansea, South Wales and David used to come in and ask me out all the time. Eventually I succumbed to his persistent charm & we have been together 6 years!

Tell us a little about your day- how you felt and what made it special for you.

I woke up on the morning and all my nerves seemed to subside, I Just couldn’t wait to see my best friend waiting for me at the end of the aisle. My brother and bampa giving me away and our beautiful son being apart of it. Every thing was how I imagined it. I would do it all over again if I could! I’m so glad we had South Wales wedding photographer Justin Harris to record our day!

Wedding flowers wales in Llanelli, South Wales decorated the venue with all white creams and ivory flowers and cloths and absolutely huge flower vase centre pieces with greenery draping down from the ceiling. It was perfect!

Justin Harris Photography & his team were so helpful. As the hair and makeup was running behind slightly he was going to get my jewellery and even topping up my glass for me.. above and beyond duties for a South wales wedding photographer!

Wedding Photographer Hensol Castle

I was super excited to meet Kate and her mum at a wedding showcase a few years ago. More so when Kate told me she needed a wedding photographer Hensol castle AND that she is a dancer! I could barely contain my excitement! We chatted excitedly and it wasn’t long before I was booked as their wedding photographer at Hensol castle!

Roll on a few agonising years of waiting and here are some highlights of Kate and Gregs wedding photographer Hensol castle! It really was the most amazing day and it certainly wasn’t spoilt by the copious amount of rain that fell! I asked them some questions about them and their amazing day, here is what they told me:

Where did you meet and how long have you been together?
We met 12 years ago in school! I went away training as a dancer and in my last year we got back in contact before I moved home. That was 5 years ago!

Where did you get married?
My grandad is buried in Llantrisant parish so the church is very close to my heart. Greg was in hospital having a shoulder operation in the vale, during his stay we went for a walk and come across Hensol castle, Greg asked did I want to book our wedding! We didn’t view any other venues we fell in love with the place! And what girl doesn’t want to get married in a castle? Hensol castle is the perfect place for wedding photography too!

Tell me a little about the amazing decor- who designed and made it happen?

I bought and made a lot myself! I’m the fussiest person in the world but I want to mention Laura smith who workes as part of Hensol castle team, she was amazing with us, she met up with us so many times for me to take pictures, decided where I wanted things and to measure nothing was too much trouble! I was so worried as I had a store room full of things for them to place out! And everything was perfect!
Our colours was very neutral I found a piece of ribbon that was a champagne colour that I tried to match the bridesmaid dresses up to, everything else was white and ivory. It all looked so elegant and classy in our wedding photography!

We got engaged in NYC we kept this as our theme using shops and attractions in New York as our table names.

Suppliers

Moss brothers Cardiff   supplied the suits and I highly recommend them. We decided to go for black tux and braces as the wedding was very neutral we also thought this would go well with the castle and kept classy. It certainly looks great in the photographs and makes a classy twist for our wedding photographer Hensol castle

Wedding photography Hay-on-Wye, Hereford

Wedding photography Hay-on-Wye

I was so excited to meet Joy & Josh. When they told me they needed a wedding photography Hay-on-Wye & began to tell me about their plans for an exclusive, luxury wedding venue from Josh’s childhood with a festival vibe, silent disco & marquees mixed in with a dollop of boho chic!

We soon met up even with a slight distance between us (Bath & Swansea) & I’m not sure who was more excited as we went through the plans & shared photos of the venue & talked about the plans! Joy & Josh booked me there & then for their wedding photography Hay-on-Wye & I for one counted the days until their big day!

I asked Joy & Josh some questions about their day – here is what they told me:

Where did you get married and why did you choose the venue?

The wedding was held in the grounds of a truly unique property owned by Lyndy Cooke, former director of the Hay festival (currently founder at hand held events) and dear family friend. This place is very important to Josh (the groom) as he grew up with many childhood memories of him & the groomsmen climbing the trees & playing in the grounds. To be able to get married here was truly an amazing & unique opportunity.

Who was your dress designer and/or supplier
It was so important for me to have an Australian designer to bring a bit of Australia to my big day. Anna Campbell definitely didn’t disappoint. The store I got this from (Perfect Day Bridal) was incredible! There was only three stores in the uk that stocked this designer and I was lucky enough that one was 20 min from my house!

Who supplied the suits
Josh’s suit was Italian linen and was tailored by Gabucci an amazing menswear store in bath.

Who was your venue decorator?
The marquee was designed and set up by the wonderful Martin Powell of Acacia marquees. We wanted the DJ set up to be like a festival.
We wanted people to be able to have a chilled drink on the hay bales in the sun and then bust out some serious moves on the main stage. Then party away in the silent disco till dawn.
If it was possible to combine vintage, garden party, boho festival into one I guess that would describe the theme. The flowers were a massive part of creating the asthetics. The lovely mother of the groom, Steph, spent months and months planting hundreds of seeds!

Who was your makeup artist
Jess was brilliant and hilarious. She made me feel comfortable and beautiful & also knew Justin, our wedding photography Hay-on-Wye!

Who was your hair stylist?
Jenny and Beth from hair comes the bride were the perfect fit to create the whimsical look to compliment my dress and hair piece. Not only was their work impeccable but they are also really good friends. They took the time to really listen to what I wanted.

What cars/ transport did you have?
Josh’s uncle’s Jaguar! He also kindly agreed to chauffeur for the day

Who made your cake?
Monkland cheese dairy
We wanted a local dairy to provide the cheese and we decorated it.
We were lucky enough for our guests Bronwyn and Marion Lally to make the lovely Victoria sponge.

Who was your florist?
The florist Debbie from the hibiscus room carefully selected the most beautiful roses that matched the bridesmaid dresses perfectly. We wanted some blues in there to match the grooms tie. The bridesmaids absolutely loved their garlands!
Who was your jewellery designer? Please describe any special features (Website if possible please)

The lovely mr Katz from E Katz & co jewellers in Hatton Garden, Chancery Lane. This place was of particular importance as it was where the grooms father bought the grooms mothers ring and also where josh bought my engagement ring.

Tell us a bit about your wedding photography Hay-on-Wye

Justin was absolutely brilliant as a wedding photographer Hay-On-Wye and I have already recommended him to people! From start to finish he has been amazing. His friendly approach and attention to detail as well as his amazing photography skills meant we have the wedding photographs we wanted an will always cherish.
