Lucinda & Justin got married in August and if ever there was a fairy tale wedding this was it!! This was my 1st time as a Hensol Castle wedding photographer and I was just blown away by the castle & the grounds; it really makes a gorgeous backdrop for bridal portraits. We first met about 18 months before the wedding & Lucinda particularly was drawn to my style of wedding photography that is so inspired by fashion photography.
The day began at the Vale Resort (which is a part of Hensol Castle) When we arrived hair and makeup was well under way with Huw Rees himself there to help dressing the girls! I love the getting ready stage; its one of my favourite parts of the day to shoot. I love capturing the nervous excitement, shooting the dresses and details and I just love seeing that moment when the dress is on & the bride is just WOW!!
The guys were having some fun in the Castle grounds being photographed by my 2nd shooter, Catherine. They were lucky enough to arrive by Rolls Royce supplied by www.phantomprestigecarhireswansea.com/.
Lucinda had her dress from Huw Rees in Llandeilo (as you may of guessed by his presence!) & the most amazing flowers; a rather spectacular red rose Carmen bouquet from master florist Jonathan.
The ceremony & reception were both held in Hensol Castle & all the close family were there which makes it rather special. Lucinda & Justin also had a blessing straight after the official ceremony which was just lovely.
After the ceremony we photographed the groups outside hensol castle; I think this is an important duty of a wedding photographer to record the family as it is so rare that we all get together. Of course we do it swiftly & as stylishly as possible (& even have some fun sometimes!) We then photographed the couple around the grounds & inside of Hensol castle which, I think you’ll agree is just an amazing place!
Food & reception was in the marquee followed by the speeches then the guests were able to mingle around the castle after continuing the celebrations. We crept back out at sundown to take a few more shots with the amazing blue sky & the castle lit up using a few of my trademark lighting styles! It really was an amazing day for a very special couple! Here are the highlights of their wedding day.
